During our dental education we are not exposed to handle this age group as it’s dealt as a specialty and arguably right, but in your dental practice You are the first contact with not just your adult patients but also numerous Paediatric dental patients. You are the face of your dental practice and hence you are responsible to build the trust with the parents and the child involved, before handing over the patient to a specialist when needed.
This module exposes you to the Psychology, approach and all the practice philosophies surrounding children’s oral care, giving you an uncompromising lead in to make your dental practice a satisfying one and ensuring that you create a long-term dental home for your patients. You will also learn the basics of an approach to clinical paediatric oral care, and it will equip you with the confidence to manage a host of routine dental care and emergencies for kids.
